Online Learning Options
17吃瓜 offers both courses and programs online. Courses range from completely online to online with proctored testing to a blend of online and on-campus delivery (Hybrid). Courses are accessed using 17吃瓜's legacy learning management system (LMS), , or , which will be 17吃瓜's only LMS beginning in Fall 2025.
Online Learning Orientation
Students taking an online class at 17吃瓜 for the first time and students who have not completed an online course at 17吃瓜 with a 2.0 grade or better will be required to complete an Online Learning Orientation (OLO) course. Upon completion of the course, students will receive a badge and will gain access to currently enrolled online course(s). Students who have successfully completed an online course at 17吃瓜 in the past will not be required to earn the badge.
The Online Learning Orientation is completed in Moodle, 17吃瓜’s learning management system, and can be completed in approximately 60 minutes. Need help? Contact the Moodle help desk at (231) 995-1070.
Learning Options
Courses at 17吃瓜 are offered in the following formats:
Lecture courses:
Lecture courses occur face-to-face in an on-campus environment. Instructors use Moodle or for the course syllabus and gradebook or other resources to supplement instruction. Please refer to the special instructions on the schedule for the course for more information.
Online courses:
Online courses do not require class meetings. Students are responsible for logging in to Moodle or to complete assignments and activities by specific dates. Licensed testing center proctored exams may be required. Please refer to the special instructions on the schedule for the course for more information.
Hybrid courses:
Hybrid courses combine online, livestream, and/or lecture delivery methods and reduce the number of required course meetings by moving some course activities to Moodle or . Scheduled course meetings are face-to-face or through Zoom. Licensed testing center proctored exams may be required. Please refer to the special instructions on the schedule for the course for more information.
Livestream courses:
Livestream courses meet during a regularly scheduled time via Zoom. Moodle or is used to distribute materials, submit assignments, track grades, and share feedback. Licensed testing center proctored exams may be required. Please refer to the special instructions on the schedule for the course for more information.

The flexibility of online classes with the personal interaction of classroom sessions, hybrid courses blend on-campus/Zoom delivery with a portion of the class content and assignments in Moodle.

17吃瓜 participates in the State Authorized Reciprocity Agreements. NC-SARA is a voluntary, regional approach to state oversight of postsecondary distance education. Residents of California are not eligible to enroll in online courses at 17吃瓜.
