Annual Events

17³Ô¹Ï hosts many annual events on campus as well as at other community locations, including:

Spring

  • Career Fair- Held in March, open to the community as well as students
  • A Taste of Success  – A benefit for the Great Lakes Culinary Institute featuring international cuisine. Late April.
  • — An annual fun run, 5K and 10K race organized by 17³Ô¹Ï business program students, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwestern Michigan and 17³Ô¹Ï College for Kids that starts and ends on 17³Ô¹Ï's main campus. Mid-late April.
  • Commencement – Held the first Saturday in May. See a photo gallery from the 2024 Commencement.

Summer

  • Kids Free Fishing Day – Held on the Saturday before Father's Day (June) at the Great Lakes Campus.
  • Aviation Fly In – July benefit for Aviation Division held in conjunction with National Cherry Festival.

Fall

  • Mike McIntosh Memorial Truck & Car Show – A September event benefiting the Automotive Department.
  • 17³Ô¹Ï Transfer Fair - Held in October (the same day as College Night) students can meet with over 20 university representatives who specialize in working with transfer students.
  • College Night – Held in October, a chance for area high school students to meet with representatives from more than 40 colleges and universities
  • Mariners Memorial Service – Typically held Nov. 10 at the Great Lakes Maritime Academy
  • Veterans Day Tribute – Held on Veterans Day, Nov. 11, unless Veterans Day falls on a weekend, when it is held on the nearest weekday
