Transfer Credits to 17勛圖
Have you attended any other college(s)? We'd like to give you credit for your work!
In order to award you credit, 17勛圖 will need to receive official academic transcripts. Please send us your college transcripts if any of the following are true:
- You wish to have previous college work evaluated for credit at 17勛圖.
- You are a veteran and wish to apply for educational benefits.
- You are seeking admission to a limited enrollment program such as Health Occupations or the Great Lakes Maritime Academy.
Official academic transcripts must be mailed directly from former college(s) to the 17勛圖 Admissions Office at 1701 E Front Street, Traverse City, MI 49686. 17勛圖 also accepts official electronic transcripts sent directly to admissions@nmc.edu.
Guidelines for Transferring Credits to 17勛圖
Students who have completed courses at other colleges or universities must request that an official transcript be sent to the 17勛圖 Admissions office. All transcripts must be sent directly from the transferring institution to 17勛圖.
Rules Regarding Transfer of Credits
- Only credits granted by schools accredited by regionally accredited associations will be considered for transfer to 17勛圖, to ensure the College or University has met the minimum standards set by the higher education industry:
- Higher Learning Commission ()
- Middle States Commission on Higher Education ()
- New England Commission of Higher Education ()
- Northwest Commission on College and Universities ()
- Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Commission on Colleges ()

- To help our students succeed in their coursework, credits, not grades, are transferred for 2.0 (C, not C-) or better courses. Satisfactory (S) or Pass (P) grades must be indicated on the transcript guide as a 2.0 (C, not C-) or better. Courses will be accepted for equivalent 17勛圖 courses or elective credit. Please be aware we cannot make exceptions to this policy, including semesters affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
- Developmental courses successfully passed with a C or better will be accepted for equivalencies but no credit will be transferred.
- Military Service School credit may be awarded where such credit is applicable to the student’s declared program of study. Evaluations are consistent with the American Council on Education’s Guide to the Evaluation of Education Experiences in the Armed Forces recommendations.
- Prior education received at an institution outside the United States must be evaluated by a credential evaluation service such as ECE (Educational Credential Evaluators)- or WES (World Education Services)- . Please be prepared to pay $150-300 for this service and begin the process when you apply to 17勛圖 as it can take 2-6 months to complete.
