Grandview Parkway / Front Street Construction
Project Overview
What's Happening?
The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is embarking on a phased reconstruction project for a 2-mile section of US-31/M-37/M-72 (Grandview Parkway/Front Street) in Traverse City. This stretch spans from the US-31/M-37/M-72 west junction (Division Street) to just east of Garfield Road.
Where and When?
The project is divided into two segments:
- Garfield Avenue to Front Street — March to July 2024
- Front Street to Division Street — July to November 2024
. Work on the western segment began July 8 with the eastbound lanes of Grandview Parkway closed between Front and Division streets and the westbound lanes converted to two-way traffic with one lane open each way.
Once the eastbound lanes are completed, traffic will be moved to those lanes, again with one lane open each way, while the westbound lanes are rebuilt. The switch is tentatively expected to happen shortly after Labor Day.
.
