  1. What are the apartments like?

    The two-bedroom apartments are about 1,000 square feet. The one-bedroom apartments have, of course, one less bedroom, and the kitchen, bath, dining, and living room areas are somewhat smaller. View a photo gallery.

  2. Are there many 1-bedroom apartments available?

    There are only 6 units with 1 bedroom. There is usually a waiting list.

  3. Is a security deposit required, and if so, how much is it?

    Yes, a security deposit of 1 month of rent is required. This must come out of pocket. Financial aid CANNOT be used to cover the security deposit.

  4. Can I use financial aid to pay the rent?

    Yes, BUT only after all other school-related expenses are paid. Tuition and fees are paid first. Then, if there is money left, financial aid can be used to pay rent. Financial aid CANNOT be used to pay the security deposit.

  5. I’m not 21 yet but I have a child. Can I rent?

    No, you must be at least 21 years of age to rent an apartment.

  6. Are pets allowed?

    No pets are allowed.

  7. Are the apartments quiet?

    Quiet hours are published in the 17³Ô¹Ï Apartments Handbook but, realistically, a low level of noise can be expected. These are apartments and there are children.

  8. I have a lot of stuff. Is there extra storage space?

    There are some additional storage closets in the laundry room of each apartment building.

  9. Who manages the apartments and where is the office?

    The Apartment Manager is located in the Health & Science Building, Campus Bookstore (#7 on the Front Street Campus map). Their number is (231) 995-1119.

  10. How do I get on the waiting list for an apartment?

    Submit an application and supporting documents to the Apartment Manager. After your application has been approved, you will be placed on the waiting list. We will notify you when an apartment is being vacated. You will have 1 week to pay your security deposit and hold your place on the list.

  11. How do I place a security deposit onto my student account?

    1. Click on my17³Ô¹Ï on  and log in

    2. On the student home page, click on the Self-Service Menu, located next to 17³Ô¹Ï Self-Service heading

    3. Selet the option for Student Billing

    4. Click on Student Account Center

    5. On the top toolbar, click on Deposit

    6. Under the Deposit Payment tab click on the dropdown menu next to Select a deposit

    7. Select TN Apartment Deposit and click Select

    8. Enter in the payment amount given to you by the Apartment Manager and click on Continue

    9. Select Payment Method and click Continue

    10. Check that the amount and payment method are correct and click Submit Payment

  12. When I make a payment on my student account how are the funds distributed?
    When you make a payment on your student account your oldest balance is always paid first.
