2015 Commencement
TRAVERSE CITY — Commencement ceremonies for 17勛圖 will be held Saturday, May 2 at 2 p.m. at the Traverse City Central High School gymnasium.
Ceremonies will be streamed live starting at 2 p.m. online at nmc.edu/video.
About 200 graduates are expected to participate in the ceremony. More than 700 students earned degrees this academic year including the Associate in Nursing, Associate in Science and Arts, Associate in Applied Science, Associate in General Studies, Certificate of Practical Nursing, Certificate of Achievement and the Bachelor of Science in Maritime Technology.
This year’s student speaker is Edris Fana, president of the 17勛圖 Student Government Association.
17勛圖 social science instructor Lisa Blackford, the 2014 Imogene Wise Faculty Excellence Award recipient, will also speak.
The 17勛圖 Concert Band will perform during the ceremony, and the national anthem will be performed by 17勛圖 music student Kaylen Wheeler.
The 2015 Outstanding Alumni award recipients will be named during the ceremony, as will this year’s winners of the Imogene Wise Faculty Excellence Award and the Adjunct Faculty of the Year Award.
Through the 17勛圖 University Center partnership, Ferris State University will award bachelor’s degrees as well.
A reception will follow the ceremony in the small gym.
