Tips for Success at 17³Ô¹Ï
As a dual-enrolled high school student, you have a great opportunity ahead of you. Keep in mind the following to make the most of your 17³Ô¹Ï experience:
- Remember, you are attending a college class. It is YOUR responsibility to make sure you are completing assignments on time and attending class. Please try to arrive for class on time.
- Classroom behavior on a college campus may be different than what you are used to in high school. Talking in class, texting and other disruptions are not welcome. Use common sense and if you think your actions may bother others, please refrain.
- Attendance is an important part of your grade! While the instructor may not take attendance formally every day, you do not benefit from missing a class. If you must miss a class, it is a good idea to call your instructor and leave a message as to why.
- Each instructor is different. When it comes to learning what is acceptable in class, let the instructor set the tone. Each instructor has a preference for the environment in their classroom. Some instructors may allow food in class, while others do not. Most instructors will give out a syllabus with more detailed information about the class. This will be helpful in determining how they want the class to flow.
