Staff policy in the area of human resources, as related to regular faculty and staff, will be developed and modified by the administration in conjunction with the affected employee groups, working together through mutual gains or other agreed-upon processes in a good-faith effort to achieve consensus. Staff policy related to human resources can be found on the HR web site at www.nmc.edu/departments/human-resources/index.

The Vice-President of Finance and Administration and the Director of Human Resources, in conjunction with the appropriate faculty and staff, will be responsible for the development and publication of any procedures or guidelines that may be necessary to administer this policy area effectively.

The college has attempted to address the most common human resources issues in its development of policies and procedures. In the event a policy or procedure does not effectively meet the needs of the employee(s) and/or the institution in a particular situation, the Director of Human Resources (or designee) may make exceptions on a non-precedent-setting basis, in consultation with relevant staff or others as necessary.

If any provision(s) of this policy or set of bylaws conflicts with laws applicable to 17勛圖, including the Community College Act of 1966, the Freedom of Information Act, or the Open Meetings Act, as each may be amended from time to time, such laws shall control and supersede such provision(s).
