DEIB History
The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion task force was created in June of 2020 to "serve the President’s Council in an advisory capacity, responsible for advising and supporting our efforts to enhance diversity and inclusion. Additionally, the Team will serve as the College’s chief advocates for diversity, equity, and inclusion."
17³Ô¹Ï hired its first DEI officer dedicated to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Marcus Bennett filled the role of Special Assistant to the President for DEI, July 1, 2022. This position was created to support 17³Ô¹Ï's Strategic Plan and advance diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging across the College and our community.
