General Education Outcomes

General Education at 17勛圖 promotes the acquisition of knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to function effectively in a changing world. General Education fosters intellectual curiosity, essential to lifelong learning.

To ensure students experience the benefits of our philosophy of general education, the faculty of 17勛圖 commits to instilling these practices throughout the curriculum.

  1. Communication
    Students will practice effective communication with an awareness of audience and a sense of purpose.
  2. Critical Thinking
    Students will skillfully conceptualize, apply, analyze, synthesize, and evaluate information gathered from observation, experience, reflection, reasoning, or communication.
  3. Quantitative Reasoning
    Students will accurately use numbers, symbols, measurements, properties, and the relationships of quantities to make sound decisions, judgments, and/or predictions.
  4. Social Responsibility
    Students will cultivate greater understanding of social complexity and cultural diversity to prepare them to contribute to social justice and/or environmental sustainability in regional, national, or global communities. 

If any provision(s) of this policy or set of bylaws conflicts with laws applicable to 17勛圖, including the Community College Act of 1966, the Freedom of Information Act, or the Open Meetings Act, as each may be amended from time to time, such laws shall control and supersede such provision(s).
