17³Ô¹Ï Fellows
The Fellows Award is 17³Ô¹Ï's highest honor, and has been awarded annually since 1964. Fellows may be nominated because they have demonstrated influential networking on behalf of the College, have demonstrated a pattern of outstanding financial or personal time contributions to 17³Ô¹Ï, or as a retiree of the college continue to contribute back to their academic or professional fields as volunteers, mentors or advisors. Exceptional contributions in one or more of these areas may justify nomination. No staff, faculty, or trustee shall be named a Fellow while still employed or in office.

Since 1988, 17³Ô¹Ï’s Outstanding Alumni award has recognized graduates and past students for significant professional achievements and/or exemplary leadership in the local or global community.
Nominees for this award should have demonstrated accomplishments that reflect 17³Ô¹Ï values of dedication to life-long learning, innovation and integrity, and respect for and collaboration with others. Recognition is not solely contingent on having received a degree or certificate from 17³Ô¹Ï, but on achievements of the nominee and positive perspective of the role that 17³Ô¹Ï played in their lives. Nominations may be made throughout the year, and are generally reviewed each spring and announced in the summer.

Top among 17³Ô¹Ï alumni and supporters stands Susie Janis. From her time as a student, Susie has readily shared the admiration that she has for the college and its people. Over and over, she stepped forward, ready to inspire and encourage others to do their best. In 2016, Susie answered the call again, agreeing to co-chair the Be What’s Possible campaign. Leading with dedication, warmth, and wit, she set a tone that working together, we would be successful. At the conclusion of the campaign in 2021, 17³Ô¹Ï Foundation staff were compelled to recognize volunteers who provide transformational service and leadership for philanthropy for 17³Ô¹Ï. The staff of the 17³Ô¹Ï Foundation is pleased to have created the Susanne M. Janis Service Award. We are grateful for her knowledge, wisdom, and energy, and inspired by her tireless service to our community’s college.
